In the Rossini¹s repertoire "Mose'" is considered a very difficult opera and is seldom performed. Yet, during its tenth anniversary season, the Gloria Opera Company performed this
melodrama at the Seoul Arts Center in Korea. It was the first time "Mose'"
had ever been performed in Korea.This is an enterprice of elevated cultural dimention and therefore worthy of most attention. Among all the prominent Korean directors
and designers working on "Moses" was a young Italian scene designer, Giovanni
Fioretto. His work with them during this remarkable cultural undertaking will
reinforce the bonds of friendship between our two countries.
For the reasons that I have briefly indicated above, to everyone that has contributed to the realization of this event I wish all great success on their crowning achievement,"
